Afro-indigenous Colombian Music Workshop

A unique opportunity to learn and perform the music of the traditional Gaita Ensemble with Martin Vejarano, a Colombian musician with vast knowledge of the music traditions of the region.

The gaita ensemble consists two verticaly held of duct-flutes, three drums and a rattle. Singing also forms part of the tradition.

The workshop is intended for anyone interested in spending an afternoon playing drums and percussion, singing songs, playing the exotic melodies of the indigenous flutes, and enjoying the highly sociable music tradition of the gaita. All levels welcome.
