The Queens Library is always seeking new, innovative music to showcase in its Sunday Concert Series which takes place September 2009 thru June 2010. Artists in this series are of high calibre, have performed all around the world, and share our mission to educate and entertain audiences about the varied cultures that make up Queens.
Groups like Pablo Mayor Folklore Urbano, Klezmerfest, the Latin Jazz Coalition, Ebony Hillbillies, Mariachi Real de Mexico, Grupo Saveiro, Sonido Isleno, and others have graced our stage.

We would love to include your group as part of the series. Our concerts take place the first Sunday of each month, are 1 hr 15 minutes without intermission, and well-attended by a diverse community.

As a public library, we provide these programs free to the community so that families, regardless of their financial status can have the opportunity to experience professional concerts. Though funding can be a challenge, especially in these difficult times, we pride ourselves on working with groups that are willing to work within a limited budget and are community-minded. I always tell professional artists that what we lack in funding we make up in the appreciation that comes from the public and visibility of our promotions listed on the web, in newspapers, and on radio with the occasional interview.

Please let me know if you would be interested in being part of this special series. Kindly give me some idea of your fee structure and how many people would be involved in this performance.

The reason I am writing is I’m trying to see if I could get you to play for my girlfriends 30th birthday September 19th. It’ll be a group of about 25 to 30 people. We won’t rent a Chiva but would rather see you guys play at Roses Live Music or a venue like that. How much does it cost to get the whole band?

Soy estudiente universitaria en Princeton U. Supe que su grupo se presento hace unos cuatro años aquí en la universidad. Pertenezco al Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Pinceton, pero siendo Colombiana, el grupo quiere que you baile un baile Colombiano. Pero yo desde la primaria que no hago danzas folkloricas colombianas, entonces ando en busca de algun grupo de danzas folkloricas Colombianas en el area de Nueva York o Nueva Jersey para hacerlo como se debe. Se que es un poco fuera de sitio, pero pense que ustedes quizas tengan algunos contactos en esa area por estos lados.
